Children's Therapy Works also offers comprehensive Speech and Language evaluations. We address those communication skills typically emphasized in an evaluation, such as articulation, language, voice and fluency, but we specialize in assessing auditory processing, verbal expression and pragmatic skills as well.
Words alone are not adequate for effective listening and communication.
Language is the meaningful use of symbols, either verbal or non verbal, such as sign language, to convey words, ideas and concepts. Many unique children communicate in ways other than traditional speaking. At Children's Therapy Works, our Speech Language Pathologists are experienced at identifying and interpreting all methods of communication. Body movements, sounds, facial expressions and behaviors all constitute various forms of communication, therefore, by using clinical observation techniques in conjunction with standardized testing tools, we're able to gather more complete information when evaluation your child.
Children's Therapy Works clinical teams rely on the comprehensive information recorded during our evaluation procedure to establish a solid baseline for your child's treatment plan. Don't forget, we're used to working together, after all, it often takes OT, PT and Speech to cover all the angles. We call it the Full Circle Approach.
